The timeframe that Kevin Turner recently mentioned to the Japanese press, according to Reuters, puts the release of Windows 10 later than expected, with previous reports suggesting April 2015 or the summer.
Windows - in various versions, mainly with "aging" Windows XP - remains the No 1 operating system on desktop PCs with 1,5 billion users. However, PCs represent just the 14% of the devices that Microsoft could provide a solution, according to the Gartner study firm, referring to the number of smartphones and tablets added to today's computing devices.
Earlier, Microsoft had announced its intention to develop a functional device for all devices and emphasized that "Windows 10 will run everywhere", the app store will be unified, application development will be done once and will be adjusted on each device.
An early version of Windows 10 is available for software engineers participating in Windows Insider. In January 2015 a first look will be possible for everyone, probably with a demo on report CES.
