United Kingdom: Google Privacy Sandbox check

Google has already announced the project privacy sandbox which is supposed to address issues caused by third party cookies. The company says its new system could be released to Chrome browsers sometime next year.

However, Google wanting to delete third-party cookies has raised some concerns in the , οπότε η Αρχή Ανταγωνισμού και Αγορών, ή CMA (από το Competition and Markets Authority), επιβεβαίωσε ότι κινά μια που θα βοηθήσει να καθοριστεί εάν η εταιρεία θα κάνει κατάχρηση της δεσπόζουσας θέσης της στην αγορά ή όχι.

“Η CMA έχει λάβει καταγγελίες από Marketers του Open Web Limited, μια ομάδα εκδοτών εφημερίδων και εταιρειών , οι οποίες ισχυρίζονται ότι η Google κάνει κατάχρηση της δεσπόζουσας θέσης της”, αναφέρει ένα επίσημο δελτίο τύπου released.

"Given the importance and potential impact of Google's proposed changes, the CMA is already considering the Privacy Sandbox, in conjunction with the ICO and Google. Given the concerns expressed by the complainants, it decided that a formal investigation should be conducted into this project. ”

With the Privacy Sandbox project, Google will offer a set of tools for targeting ads, all aimed at protecting users' privacy.

But that may not be enough, it seems, and the CMA says it is already working with Google to understand all the changes the company intends to make to the Chrome browser.
