The days of 14nm desktop chips technology seem to be over for Intel as the company announced their 10 generation processors Ice Lake 10nm today Tuesday at Computex.
The 10th generation Core processor will be available for OEMs in variants of i3, i5 and i7 with Gen11 graphics technology enhanced for deep learning, and the Gaussian Network Accelerator for low battery AI work, along with built-in support for Wi-Fi 6.
Intel described the Gen11 graphics as twice as good as the Gen9, and the deep learning boost as nine times better than all the "comparable products on the market."
The systems that will run with Ice Lake are expected to be released around Christmas.
Also coming to an end are Intel Athena devices, which were first announced at CES in January 2019.
The company in addition to Intel Ice Lake at 10nm today announced the specifications of Project Athena, according to which the systems will be able to wake up from a sleep state in less than a second and have a much longer battery life capable of 16 hours video player.
Companies planning to launch products that use Project Athena technology include Acer, Asus, Dell, Google, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft, Samsung and Sharp. These products will use 8th and 10th generation processors.
At the same time, Intel announced 14 different new versions of 9th generation vPro processors for mobile and desktop computers, as well as 14 new Xeon E processors for Workstations.
