Internet Explorer support end from November

Microsoft is withdrawing Internet Explorer slowly but steadily. The Microsoft 365 team announced in August that it will gradually stop supporting him starting with the end of support for Microsoft Teams in Internet Explorer on November 30, 2020.

On August 17, 2021, Microsoft 365 will stop supporting Internet Explorer 11 entirely. The old version of Edge reaches the end of support on March 9, 2021 and leaves the new one Chromium-based Edge browser, like Microsoft's only browser.

The German blog Dr. Windows he says that Internet Explorer 11 will stop supporting Microsoft Accounts and Microsoft Apps in November. Microsoft has not released any public announcements confirming the blog post, but the site administrator is usually well informed.

According to the publication, Microsoft is informing Enterprise customers about the upcoming end of support. It is not clear if the support fee only affects Microsoft business customers or home users.

The end of support does not mean that Internet Explorer 11 users will see a message like "your browser is no longer supported". However, Internet Explorer may lose access to certain features, new or old, that will be changed or added after the official end of support.

So the only choice they will have and home users are to use the new browser Microsoft Edge. The old Edge will reach the end of support in early 2021 and this leaves Microsoft Edge based on Chromium as the only browser supported.

Internet Explorer 11 will probably be supported until at least 2025 but only with security, and fewer and fewer websites will work properly with the app since it won't have support for new features or new technology.

Companies can use the Internet Explorer feature in the new proof the Chromium-based Microsoft Edge browser for websites, applications and services that require certain Internet Explorer technologies or features.
