IPED is an open source software code which can be used to process and analyze digital evidence, seized from crime scenes by hackers or in corporate research by private investigators.
The IPED – Digital Evidence Processor and Indexer (translated from Portuguese) is a tool implemented in java and still being developed by digital forensics experts from the Federal Police of Brazil since 2012. Although it has always been open source, it was only in 2019 that its code was officially published .
