iPhone 6s crashes from a plane, records its descent and survives

The director's iPhone 6s Ernesto Galioto survived after 300 meters from a small plane and most amazingly, he recorded his fall for all to enjoy.

Gallioto pulled the iPhone 6s out of the small window of the single-engine plane to take aerial shots of a beach in Rio de Janeiro. All is well until the phone left his hands due to the wind.

When he landed and checked the Find My Phone app, he discovered that the iPhone 6s was still on and sitting in the middle of a Rio beach. It had a small scratch, but survived the fall and still worked thanks to a silicone case and screen protector (apparently the sand also helped).

You can watch the iPhone 6s fall from nearly 300 meters in the video above, which also includes footage from the cockpit and from the moment Galioto dropped it of. Surprisingly, it's not the first time a phone (or camera) falls from a great height and lived to tell his story.
