IPhones hate the cold

They cool them down ; It may not catch on all the time, but one thing is for sure, the popular device hates the cold.

When the temperature drops below zero, the iPhones start to malfunction: the smartphone can not feel the touch, its battery almost instantly ends. If it is quite cold, the appliance is completely turned off.

On the web , Apple recommends that you use iPhone at temperatures between 0ºC and 35ºC, since “low or high temperature conditions may temporarily shorten its life or cause changes in device behavior."

If the temperature drops below 0º, the best thing to do is leave your iPhone turned off and stored as warm as Apple suggests. It will probably continue to work but when the temperature begins to fall too much, Apple suggests leaving it warm (no tea and scarves).

Η Toronto's Global News, recently tested 2 iPhones in the cold. With two iPhones of the same model, it left one out in the cold (we talk about temperature around -5 to -10) and the other in an indoor space. Thirty minutes later, the iPhone that was outside lost its battery charging, from 100% to 99%, while the other dropped to 86%. When they tried to use the iPhone that was cold, it quenched as reported by Huffington Post.

To keep your iPhone warm, you can keep it close to your body. A good case will help extra. Of course, you should not control your iPhone very much when you are walking out.

Lest Apple friends misunderstand, let's mention that it's not just the iPhone that reacts this way to frost. MikroPC from Finland tested 15 different mobile phones in cold temperatures. Everything reacted similarly to the iPhone. The first to stop working was an iPhone 4S at -10 C, and the one that lasted the longest was a Galaxy II, which did not shut down until the temperature reached -31 degrees.
