The ISS Transit Finder helps you see the ISS in front of the moon

ISS Transit Finder is a new web designed to help amateur astronomers, and astrophotographers figure out exactly when and where the International Space Station will fly by in your area, without the sun blocking your view but also in front of the moon.

The site ISS Transit Finder was created by the Polish photographer Bartosz Wojczyński, who had previously released an incredible high resolution photo with the moon and one with the North Pole.

The use of the site is simple: first, you need to enter your location by providing latitude or φ, longitude (longitudinal or λ) and altitude (elevation or h). If you want to make things easier, you can select a point from the map, or you can allow your browser to locate your site for your website.

Then you have to choose a date range for your observation as well as the distance you are willing to travel to get the best results.

Finally, press "CALCULATE" and the application will give you a list of upcoming movements of the ISS and the moon where you can observe and if you want to take a photo.

If you still don't have a handy telescope and want to see what the ISS looks like when it passes in front of the moon, check out the following shared by Wojczyński on December 20, 2015, taken from Pyrzowice, Poland:
