Jelly: A Kickstarter funding campaign promoting the smaller world's 4G smartphone has already surpassed $56.954 and reached 726 backers with 34 days left to go. The project concerns the construction of a compact phone that runs Android 7.0 Nougat and supports the 4G network.
Unihertz, the team behind the idea, describes the smartphone as the "absolute answer to any situation where using a large, expensive main phone is inconvenient". The main focus of the phone's funding campaign is of course its size.
While its sizes screen of smartphones are getting bigger and bigger (a good example is Samsung's Galaxy S8+, which has a 6,2-inch screen) there are some users who prefer smaller smartphones, which is why manufacturers often provide Mini versions of standard models.
But Unihertz provides consumers with a small, handy secondary phone that fits even in the smallest pocket of your jeans.
Due to its size, it suits the needs of users in many cases when it would be uncomfortable to carry a bulky device with them and would prefer to leave it at home.
The Jelly smartphone comes in two choices, one that comes with 1GB RAM and 8GB storage, while the other provides consumers with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage.
The size of the phone did not prevent developers from equipping the tiny phone with a 2MP front camera and 8MP optical sensor, along with a quad core processor clocked at 1.1GHz. Its screen is LCD 2,45 inch. The device also comes with a gyro and GPS sensor, along with Dual Nano SIM support.
