The company Kantar Worldpanel has released its latest report on the global smartphone market, which concerns the quarter ending last March.
Kantar's reports describe the situation in the main mobile phone markets, Europe (Germany, UK, France, Spain, Italy), the US, China, Australia and Japan.
Overall, in the European markets iOS gains a small increase and now stands at 19,2%, while the Android καταγράφει μερίδιο 70,7 αυξημένο κατά 1,5% σε σχέση με πέρυσι. Το Windows Phone της Microsoft κινείται στο 8,1%, έναντι 6,5% πέρυσι.

The smallest increase for Windows Phone is seen in Germany (0,5%), while Android dominates, which from 73,6% last year is rising to 77%. In Spain, Android moved down from 93,7% to 88,6%, while Windows Phone recorded a share of 3% and iOS 7,6%, rising by 4,5%, compared to last year.
According to Kantar analysts, devices such as Lumia 520 have allowed Nokia to penetrate dynamically on the European market for low-cost devices but also to be the first choice of users who switched from previous Symbian devices.
This trend may change as there is now fierce competition in this segment with the arrival of its Moto G Motorola, but also Samsung's strong discount policy for some of its models (such as the S3 or the mini versions of some devices).
In the US market, Android maintains the leading edge (57,6%), with a strong upward trend, while iOS maintains a share of 35,9% down by 7,8% compared to last year. Windows Phone and BlackBerry complete the relative list of 5,3% and 0,7%, respectively.
In the Chinese market, despite its addition iPhone στο portfolio της China Mobile, iOS saw its shares drop by 5,4%, narrowing to 17,9%. Android maintains an 80% market share in China, up 8,1%.
Finally, Japan remains Apple's undisputed stronghold with iOS maintaining a market share of 57,6%, compared to 41,5% of Google's Android.
