According research Kaspersky Lab and B2B International, one in five businesses believes that IT service providers (especially network providers) are responsible for protecting their online services from DDoS attacks.

Almost every company, regardless of size, is a potential victim of DDoS attack. According to the survey, among organizations with publicly available online services, 28% of small businesses and 43% of large businesses suffered DDoS attacks in a period of 12 months.
By sector, organizations most affected by DDoS incidents include IT companies (49%), e-commerce (44%), telecommunications (44%) and media (42%). At the same time, countermeasures to DDoS attacks were marked by 53% of telecommunications companies, 50% of IT companies and just by 41% of ecommerce companies and 38% of the media.
The survey also shows that, on average, 28% of businesses believe that protection against DDoS attacks is not its own concern, and once 72% of businesses agreed that fighting DDoS is its own responsibility.
It is noted that this view agrees with 50% of small businesses compared to almost 90% of large enterprises. In conclusion, smaller companies assume less responsibility for protecting their services from DDoS attacks.
