According research Kaspersky Lab and B2B International, Apple computer users face digital threats just as often with other platform users.

For example, 41% of MacBook owners in Europe have never or almost never heard of ransomware and 34% are unaware of the dangerous malware that can exploit them vulnerabilities of the software. In comparison, among respondents overall, 30% know almost nothing about ransomware and 27% know nothing about exploits.
Research shows that half of Mac users still neglect the need to install security solutions on their devices. In Europe, only 30% of MacBooks and 50% of Apple desktops are protected. Additionally, when Apple users choose a security solution for their devices, most emphasize price (40%), while efficiency in detecting malware is top priority for 37%. In comparison, Windows users put malware detection efficiency as their top priority (48%), followed by cost and ability to fight online threats (45% and 32% respectively).

However, as today's digital threats expand their areas of action more and more, it is important to be prepared for them. In this context, Kaspersky Lab strongly recommends that Mac users not only install security solutions, but also remember the rules of safe behavior on the Internet." said Peter Aleshkin, Kaspersky Lab's Consumer Marketing Group for the Emerging Markets area.
