On the occasion of Father's Day, which was celebrated on Sunday, June 19, the Kaspersky Lab highlights the ways in which fathers care for children τους στο Διαnetwork, checking whether their care extends from the real to the virtual world.
As it turns out, modern fathers give special attention caution in their children's activities on the Internet and do their best to find the right balance between protecting and encouraging their interest in the Internet and modern gadgets.
According research specifically held for Kaspersky Lab, the overwhelming majority of fathers feel responsible both for the financial maintenance of their families and for their digital security. This means that it is usually the father who installs security solutions for all household digital devices. Specifically, 86% of participants said they are protecting computers, 77% smartphone and 63% are installing anti-malware solutions on tablets.
Ίσως αυτός είναι ο λόγος που οι μπαμπάδες είναι πιο διατεθειμένοι από τις μαμάδες να επιτρέψουν στα children να χρησιμοποιούν gadget από πολύ μικρή ηλικία.
For example, the number of fathers who give their children smartphones or tablets before their first birthday is at least double the number of mothers who admit to doing the same. In addition, fathers tend to view the Internet as something very important, both for themselves and their children, according to two third of the fathers who took part in the survey. Also, unlike mothers, fathers believe that the Internet has a positive effect on their children – on their physical and mental condition, their performance at school, their future career orientation and their lives in general.
For example, 45% believes that their children feel more successful and comfortable with their friends because of the Internet, and more than a quarter (29%) believes that the Internet helps children to become more organized in their programming their time.
Also, a father is much more likely to buy gadgets for his children so that the latter are not treated badly by their peers. For example, half of fathers provide their children with one computer or a laptop, based on the reasoning above.
Also, fathers are convinced that children should know how to use digital devices. Thus, over a third of those surveyed (36%) stated that they bought their children a tablet for this reason.
"Paternity is a complex and unique phenomenon, with significant consequences for children's behavioral, emotional and spiritual development. While fathers interact and interact with their children in distinctly different ways than mothers, at the same time they help to prepare their children for the dangers of the real as well as the virtual world. So be a dedicated father who will be involved in the life of his child. Encourage your children to have fun and take risks but to teach them the importance of safety and protection, suggests psychologist Dr. Kyriaki G. Giota.
For all of the above, Kaspersky Lab has prepared a special video
