The Kaspersky System Checker is a free portable program from the Russian security company that runs diagnostics on your computer.
The program is designed to scan your computer for issues, but it does not fix them. Kaspersky System Checker, however, does not seem to be a product that tries to sell you one of the company's commercial products.
Some companies are developing system scanners that have only one purpose: to sell you their commercial products. For example, Norton Security Scan is such a product. It's a free scanner that can not fix anything when it detects something.
Kaspersky System Checker is compatible with all versions of Windows up to Windows XP.
If you are interested you can download it autonomous 40+ Megabyte file from the Kaspersky website and run it directly on your computer without installation.
Just press the "run" button diagnosticsOn the first screen. You can also click on the question mark or main menu icon to open the help document.
Scanning will not take longer than two minutes for most systems. Kaspersky states that it needs an Internet connection to fully run the program but will not send data to Kaspersky without user confirmation.
