The UK government has abolished the use of all protection software from Russia (see Kaspersky Labs).
A information note published last Friday and distributed to all government agencies, reported the risk of products use the cloud. Of course, these included anti-virus (AV) products.
The tips he says are simple:
“… where it is estimated that access to information by the Russian state would pose a risk to national security, an AV company based in Russia should not be chosen. In practical terms, this means that in information processing systems classified SECRET and above, products from Russia should never be used.”
The newsletter added that the National Cyber Security Center "is in discussions with Kaspersky Lab αν about whether we can develop a control framework."
"In particular, we are seeking verifiable measures to prevent the transfer of UK data to the Russian state."
The information note continues: "We will be transparent with the outcome of these discussions with Kaspersky Lab and will adjust our guidelines if necessary, in the light of any conclusions."
