Update KB5003173, released on Patch Tuesday May 2021, is reportedly causing problems for some users of Windows 10.

Based reports by Reddit, error 0x800f0922 appears to be hitting devices on which Microsoft Edge (Chromium) has been removed manually.
When you install KB5003173, it also attempts to install Chromium Edge. However, the installation fails when it finds an empty Edge folder on the system disk (C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Microsoft \ Edge \).
This can happen if the Microsoft Edge folder was not removed correctly.
How To Fix Error 0x800f0922
There are two solutions: Manually reinstall Microsoft Edge from the Microsoft Web site and try again to get the cumulative update. Or just remove the Edge folder from the path C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Microsoft \.
This will allow the cumulative update to proceed.
Unfortunately, there are cases where the update installation fails otherwise messages every time and the above solution doesn't work.
Failure to install the Windows 10 update is always accompanied by an error message and this code may differ. Some users have noticed that updates and installations reach 73% and then fail with a different error message.
