Microsoft was released today a new build to the Release Preview channel for Windows 11 Insiders. The new build, 26300.9278, is not a standard build, as it brings the upcoming Windows 11 build 26H2 for testing.Windows 11 1

The company confirmed that build 26H2 shares the same servicing branch as builds 24H2 and 25H2, meaning those users can now get build 26H2 simply by downloading the eKB or activation package. In this case, that's KB5121794.

If you're an Insider using the Windows 11 Release Preview channel, you can simply get build 26H2 through Windows Update. The manual process lets you check for, download, and install an optional feature update instead of waiting for Microsoft to push it out automatically. You can do this from Settings > Windows Update.

Microsoft confirmed that it will also release ISOs "shortly".

Meanwhile, alongside this, the company also released the optional preview update for August 2026 with the build KB5120998.
