The popular one bitTorrent webσελίδα Kickass Torrents has been banned by Google once again. Users of Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox who visit the popular torrent site Kickass Torrents (CAT) will see a security warning ahead of them.
The warning appears in all domains (http://kat.cr or https://kat.cr) and reports that they distribute malicious software.
This issue only affects the two preletterthe browsing we mentioned as Google's Safe Browsing blocked the site.
Google's Safe Browsing algorithm refers to it as "unwanted software", which is often caused by malicious third-party advertising.
In short, some KickassTorrents pages host malicious software, or Google detects them incorrectly as malicious. This issue typically occurs when an ad network is violated and it starts serving malicious ads.
TorrentFreak contacted the KAT team and replied that this time the block should be false positive. In any case, they are working to remedy the issue.
Two weeks ago, the site was blocked again by the two big browsers, and its managers reportedly quickly removed the malicious advertiser.
Despite the rapid reaction of the KAT team, it took more than two days before Firefox and Chrome again show the page clean.
If you cannot wait for this process to complete, you can access the website (at your own risk) by doing click in the details link, or by turning off your browser's warnings entirely.
