Calls – fines via SMS

The first SMS for calls from AI cameras is now a reality in Greece, as notifications for violations (e.g. red, helmet) are already being sent.

Beware of phishing scams: Official messages do not request payment through links, but only provide information. Always check that your calls come exclusively through gov.gr.

How does it work: The AI camera records the violation, the Hellenic Police certifies it and an SMS arrives.
How will you see it: Log in to gov.gr (Transportation > Traffic Fines section) with your Taxisnet codes to confirm.
SMS scam: If the message contains a link for immediate payment, it is false (phishing) and aims to steal money.

What to do if you receive a suspicious SMS:

Don't click on any links.
Do not give out card details or bank codes.
Delete the message immediately.

Note: Real calls appear in the citizen's digital mailbox and do not require payment via sms
