TVAddons, the leading library for unofficial Kodi add-ons, has mysteriously disappeared. Site domains do not seem to respond, and DNS entries seem to be missing. He understands why and how all this has been done, but given the lawsuit received last week, some are afraid of the worst.
Last week we passed the news That the TVAddons library is subject to prosecution by a federal court in Texas.
Since then, Kodi's pirate community has been in turmoil. Pretty popular Kodi addons have decided to close, and now TVAddons itself seems to be in trouble.
TVAddons is one of Kodi's largest add-on repositories, many of which allow users to watch pirated content. The site has grown massively in recent years when 40 reported millions of unique visitors only in March.
Since yesterday, however, these millions of users can no longer access the site. Without a warning or a public explanation, the domain name TVAddons stopped responding. DNS registrations appear to have been removed, which means that the name and page are no longer accessible to the public.
Just a few hours ago TVAddons on Facebook disappeared completely.
TVAddons listed 1.500 different add-ons, which was the community's Exodus addon and was one of the most popular.
It may be too early to draw conclusions about the future of Kodi addons as we know them, but everything shows that things have become very difficult for the communities that support them. Of course no one can make predictions because our torrent community has proven that although many do not want it to work, it still exists…
Update: Exodus seems to work for the moment, though many of its streaming distribution sources do not seem to be showing up.
