Kopia : Free, open source software for cloud backup

Kopia is a free, open source cloud backup software with simultaneous compression and encryption.

Kopia supports backing up your files and is suitable for both businesses and individuals. It supports many major cloud services that are usually reserved for storing backups.

It is a fast and secure backup tool that runs in the background on a set schedule.

Kopia is available in both a command line interface (CLI) and a graphical interface (GUI). You can choose to create unlimited snapshots of a folder and recover any version you want, with a few clicks. For backup storage it supports Google Cloud, Amazon S3, Backblaze B2, WebDav and some others.

The program is perhaps the most powerful in its category and at the same time free. It supports many compression algorithms. This will help you save storage space and make the backup process faster and more efficient.

In its settings it uses "Policies" with which it defines each backup task in a policy. There you can select or exclude certain files from the destination folder, enable compression, and have custom scheduling options.

There are not that many free and open source file backup software so if you are a computer systems administrator in a company just give it a try. It runs on Windows, Mac and Linux. You can download it here.
