Kyriakos Mitsotakis will announce measures for the digital addiction of minors. The government has already announced the “digital cutoff” for children under 15, and today it will be officially announced. It remains to be seen how it will be implemented…

What does this mean? Children in the third year of high school and below will not be able to use Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat and other social networks. It also means that social networks will have to find ways to identify the age of their users. The new legislation is expected to be announced today at 11 am on TikTok by Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
The provision, as reported by the government, has been adequately studied and the difficulties that exist, mainly in terms of imposing sanctions on platforms, which do not have headquarters in all member states, have been highlighted.
Many of them are based in Ireland and will therefore need a stricter European directive. However, depending on their activities in the member states, they will have different obligations and the government intends to impose a “digital age limit” on them for children under 15, calling on them to use tools to identify the real age of users.
Although the press releases will range from very select to rare, I said I'd pass...because sometimes the editors hide.
