The Pentagon has officially labeled Anthropic a “supply chain risk,” ordering federal agencies and defense contractors to stop using its artificial intelligence tools. when the company requested restrictions in the use of its models by the military. 
In a written statement, the ministry reports that he “officially informed Anthropic leadership that the company and its products are considered a supply chain risk, effective immediately.”

The designation, historically reserved for foreign companies with ties to U.S. adversaries, will require companies that work with the U.S. military – or even the federal government more generally – to sever their ties with Anthropic.
