LastPass: fake app on Apple App Store

LastPass warns that a fake copy of the app is being distributed in the "secure" Apple App Store, which is likely being used as a phishing app to steal user credentials.

The fake app uses a similar name to the authentic app, a similar icon, and a red-themed interface designed to look close to the authentic design of the official app.

However, the name of the fake app is “LassPass” instead of “LastPass” and it has “Parvati Patel” as its publisher. Additionally, it has a low rating (the actual app has over 52k), with only four reviews warning that it's fake.

We did not install the app to see if what the company claims (phishing app) is true. One hypothesis we are making is that it may be an exploit on the “LastPass” brand name.

Of course there are the comments, the reviews that alert us in case something goes wrong.
