They have gone over 20 years since its secret files KGB they leaked by Russia. These files number in the thousands and include, as the FBI stated, “the most complete and extensive filecase of espionage that we have ever had from any source.” The documents include KGB information about secret Russian weapons, caches, Russian spies, and information about the activities of Pope John Paul II. They are known as the Mitrokhin Files, and are still available today in his Archive Churchill College.
The files were leaked by Vasiliy Mitrokhin, who worked in a KGB intelligence archive between 1972 and 1984. During his time there, Mitrokhin is said to have had free access to hundreds of thousands of confidential files. Finally, when it came to conflict with the Soviet government he began to copy the documents and smuggle them in his shoes and jacket pockets. Mitrokhin then hid the files which remained hidden until he revealed them to United Kingdom in the 90s.
But today you can find online.
