And yet it is reality. Lenovo and google have just announced that they have reached an agreement for its acquisition Motorola Mobility.
Google bought Motorola Mobility 2011 for 12.5 billion and the deal closed today with a Chinese company Lenovo says it will only get 2.9 billion for the company.
This means Google decided to sell Motorola with huge losses. Good news for Google is that it will hold most of Motorola's patents, including existing patent applications and inventive disclosures, such as Project Ara, for example.
"Lenovo has the expertise and track record to make Motorola Mobility an important player in the ecosystem of Android. The movement this will allow Google to focus its energy on driving Android innovation for the benefit of all its users," said Larry Page, CEO of Google.
