Lenovo officially unveiled a new prototype device during this week's Mobile World Congress 2024 trade show in Barcelona, Spain. A laptop with a transparent screen.
The company calls the product Lenovo ThinkBook Transparent Display Laptop Concept, in its press release.
The actual prototype shown at MWC 2024 has a bezel-less 17,3-inch Micro-LED display, which means every part of the screen can be used. It also has a transparent keyboard area that can be operated with a stylus.
However, the company has not said that it plans to make a transparent screen available in an actual ThinkBook. We've seen other Lenovo concepts appear at trade shows only to disappear later. At MWC 2023, the company showed off a laptop with a rollable display, but that's about as far as it went.
But the company revealed some notebooks that will be released in the future.
One is the Lenovo ThinkPad X12 Detachable Gen 2. The laptop runs Windows 11, has a 12,3-inch IPS display that can be detached from the keyboard. Inside the display is an Intel Core Ultra U CPU, along with up to 1TB of storage and up to 32GB of RAM, with a built-in kickstand.
The keyboard features Lenovo's TrackPad if a mouse is not available.
George is still wondering what he is doing here….
