After the scandal that broke out with the discovery of Superfish, Lenovo promises to stop the installation crapware on the systems on the market.
Crapware, also known as Bloatware or Junkware, is used by hardware manufacturers in their devices. Of course they do it for extra profits from the advertisements shown to the buyer of the product.
So the Lenovo regrettably offers all customers who had Superfish on their computer (all those who bought the company's PC between September last year and January 2015) a free six-month subscription of the scanner security McAfee Livesafe (or six months free extra if someone already has it).
In addition to offering for its victims, Lenovo has committed itself to the following:
"We're starting right away, and once Windows 10 is released on our products, we'll be installing only the operating system and related software, i.e. the software required for the material (for example, when there is some unique hardware in our devices, such as a 3D camera), security software and Lenovo apps,” the company said.
"This should eliminate any adware and bloatware."
It remains to be seen if all this will become deeds πρά
