Let's Encrypt has announced that their free security certificates are now trusted by all major browsers. Everything indicates that the mission of the organization to offer free HTTPS encryption on all sites is a step closer to reality.
The Let's Encrypt is an open certificate authority managed by the Internet Security Research Group (ISRG) and is funded by Mozilla and Automattic. It aims to equip legitimate sites of any size and function with SSL / TLS certificates that help browsers accept and serve encrypted data to ensure that users' activities and transactions are intercepted.
Their first certificate was issued in September and has now received signatures from the SSL certificate provider IdenTrust.
Now Let's Encrypt will start issuing certificates in November. This move will help websites if they adopt HTTPS encryption and get higher rankings in Google search results.
