LibreCAD 2.2.1 Open Source CAD for Windows, Mac and Linux

The is a free Open Source CAD application for Windows, Mac and . Support and documentation is free from a large, dedicated community of users, partners and developers.

LibreCAD started as a project for CAM in the community version of QCad for use with a Mechmate CNC router.

Since QCad CE was developed with the old book Qt3, had to be ported to Qt4 before additional improvements. This led to CADuntu.

The project was known as CADuntu only for a few months before the community decided the name was inappropriate. After some discussion and research on existing names, CADuntu was renamed LibreCAD.

Moving the rendering engine to Qt4 turned out to be a big project, so LibreCAD first depends on the Qt3 support library. The transition to Qt4 was finally completed during the development of the 2.0.0 series, thanks to the main developer Rallaz.

Meanwhile, for the LibreCAD 2.2.1 series, Qt5 is required.
