Librefox open source project: secure Firefox

Librefox is an open source project designed to provide everyone with a copy of the Firefox browser with security enhancements to better protect your personal data.

Librefox is not a distribution of Firefox. It just uses the core of the popular Firefox browser, and adds improvements to privacy, and security. Please note that there are other improvements and changes to the browser. Librefox

The project uses the Ghacks user.js and other information to create a browser for better privacy and security.

The application is available for Windows, Mac and Linux devices and can run on Windows with or without installation. The project team is developing versions of Librefox from Stable Firefox, Extended Release Release and Beta.

The app looks exactly like Firefox when you start it, but the developer reportedly removed some items from Firefox. Updates, crash reports, and embedded "privacy-free" plug-ins have been removed from the browser. Mozilla Foundation links by default from Firefox were also removed:

The Librefox application comes without add-ons, although there are several recommended by the team. All recommended add-ons have been reviewed by the Librefox development team.

If you use Firefox and want to know the differences between Firefox and Librefox, you can view the mozilla.cfg and policies.json files.
