LibreOffice 6.1.2 New Release from Document Foundation

LibreOffice 6.1.2: Document Foundation announced the 6.1.2 edition of the LibreOffice suite 6.0. It is the second minor release of the LibreOffice 6.1 series that was released on early August of 2018 for all supported platforms.

LibreOffice 6.1 has been in development for the past six months and comes with new features such as upgraded image management functionality that is significantly faster and smoother, especially when opening documents created in Microsoft Office.

LibreOffice 6.1.2 also has a new Page menu and reorganizes the Draw menu for better consistency across sections. Comes with an enhanced EPUB export filter with additional metadata customization options and better support for links, images, tables, footnotes and embedded fonts.

Another major improvement is that the Firebird database engine is now enabled by default, replacing the old HSQLDB database engine. The developers recommend all interested parties to convert the them from HSQLDB to Firebird using the helper s or by exporting them to an external HSQLDB server.
