LibreOffice 7.0: LibreOffice continues to be the number one alternative to Microsoft Office and The Document Foundation has continuous improvements every time.
At the same time, the developer team is developing the next big thing version which is expected to be released this summer as LibreOffice 7.0.

So this week The Document Foundation introduced the first alpha build of LibreOffice for Windows, Linux and Mac.
The first version of LibreOffice has been released to the public, as developers have already started bug hunting. It is a win win move as it allows the users να δοκιμάσουν τη νεότερη έκδοση της σουίτας και να μοιραστούν τυχόν problems that they meet with the developer team, helping them essentially patch the app from these very early stages of development.
LibreOffice 7.0, as mentioned above, is expected to be released in August with many improvements for each application included in the suite.
Details of the new version are included in the wiki, and they mention:
"DOCX is now stored in native 2013/2016/2019 mode instead of the 2007 compatibility mode. This mainly benefits Word users."
