Arne Exton developed a new kernel for 64-bit Ubuntu and Debian operating systems. The new kernel-64bit-4.3.0-4-exton, can run without problems on all types of modern Ubuntu systems, and Linux Mint 17.3 (Rosa).
It can be used without any problems even on Debian GNU / Linux 8.1 (Jessie).
Below we describe how to install 4.3 Linux kernel on Ubuntu, Debian and Linux Mint
Just make sure your system is 64-bit.
Download the ubuntu-kernel-64bit-4.3.0-4-exton package and save the zip file to your system's Home.
Unzip its contents, and open the Terminal in the home folder, in our case in the home / giorgos folder.
Immediately run the following commands one by one.
sudo dpkg -i * .deb sudo update-grub
You will have to wait for the upgrade of the Linux kernel to 4.3. When the installation process is complete, restart your computer.
So your operating system from today will run the latest version of Linux Kernel. The good news is that the new kernel will allow you to install the latest Nvidia video drivers as well.
