Jerry Bezencon he said the release of Linux Lite 8.0, an Ubuntu-based distribution that makes it easy to install and boot for beginners. 
“Linux Lite 8.0 Final is now available for download. This release is dedicated to every person who has filed a bug report, and shared feedback with us. The 8 series represents 14 years of community effort culminating in the longest Linux Lite development cycle:
a brand new installer, new performance-driven kernels, end-to-end GTK4 theming, plenty of customization, a Game Center that gives you all the tools you need to get started in minutes, a wealth of new internal apps, and unprecedented translation coverage at every level of the system. The 8 series will continue to build on this foundation with improved usability, expanded apps, more options, more control, and continued performance improvements to our custom kernels.”
One of the features highlighted in the project's release announcement is the choice of two kernel versions, a general-purpose kernel and another that includes optimizations for gaming.
