The Linux distribution Mint 19.1 "Tessa" has just been released, with an updated desktop environment.
The Mint team has released an update for the 19.x series to the public. THE new edition, Linux Mint 19.1, is based on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS and comes in three flavors: Cinnamon, MATE and Xfce. In addition to some visual improvements to the Cinnamon distribution, Linux Mint makes it easier to report bugs and help developers resolve issues faster:
"When software crashes, some tools like mintreport produce a stack trace, which developers can see to understand the cause of the crash."
In addition to improvements for developers, the new Mint runs with linux-kernel-4.15.0-20 and wears the new Cinnamon 4.0.8 + tessa.
Those who are interested can try the distribution from the Live ISOs below. The username for the live session is "mint" and for the password just press Enter.
