Linux Mint 20.3 Una has released the final version

The final version of the Linux Mint 20.3 "Una" distribution is available for download in Cinnamon, Xfce and MATE versions.

What's new?

The Linux Mint 20.3 "Una" distribution is based on the Ubuntu 20.04.3 version of the Ubuntu 20.04 LTS (Focal Fossa) operating system series and runs the Linux 5.4 LTS kernel.

Cinnamon version has the latest desktop environment Cinnamon 5.2, which brings many improvements and new features. On the other hand, both Xfce and MATE versions have been upgraded to the latest Xfce 4.16 and MATE 1.26 desktop environments.

All three versions have an updated look as the default Mint-Y theme had a lot of visual improvements.

Because of these visual changes, the Mint-Y-Darker theme will now be available from the Linux Mint distribution repository for those who want to use the old look of the previous version. You can easily add the Mint-Y-Darker theme by installing the mint-themes-legacy package.

Another interesting change in this version is a new application called Thingy (Library), which is an XApp that can be used as a single location for all your recent and favorite documents. Thingy is available in all three versions, but is not exclusive to the Linux Mint distribution. This means that it can be installed on any other GNU / Linux distribution.

The Hypnotix IPTV player has been updated to this version with a new search feature that lets you easily find TV channels, movies and series, as well as support for the Xtream API. Sticky Notes also got a search function, along with a new control inside the note toolbar for controlling text size.

PDF Xreader now supports manga, Xviewer now supports fast image adjustment in window height or width, and Xed word processor lets you browse tabs using keyboard shortcuts. Also, the Xed and Xreader applications now have an option to hide the menu bar.

The new version of Linux Mint 20.3 brings improved support for Flatpaks, printing, Bluetooth on or off, and various performance improvements to help you save more battery and reduced resources.
