The Linux Mint distribution team has embarked on a new development cycle, revealing new enhancements to upcoming Ubuntu and Debian-based operating systems.
The developers of the Linux Mint distribution have confirmed the upcoming Debian version first, which will include all the Linux Mint 19.3 enhancements such as boot repair, and HiDPI settings.
The Linux Mint Debian Edition 4 distribution will support Btrfs format and home partition encryption.
LMDE 4 will support NVIDIA cards as it adds a new entry to the boot menu to install NVIDIA drivers automatically. It will redirect you to the login GUI in case of a black screen when starting the OS.
The Linux Mint 20 will be the other version of the operating system and will be based on the Ubuntu 20.4 LTS currently being developed by the Canonical team. With the upcoming version you will be able to select your screen frequency in Cinnamon 4.6 screen settings.
In addition, Cinnamon 4.6 will have fractional scaling that will allow you to adjust the value between 100% and 200% for each screen independently.
Finally, the Publication reports that the launch of Mintbox 3 desktops worldwide has begun. You can purchase the Pro and Basic versions of Mintbox 3 from the official Amazon and Fit IoT website.
