Clement Lefebvre has announced that the beta snapshot of the upcoming Linux Mint 20, codenamed "Ulyana", is available for testing.
This major new release is based on Ubuntu 20.04 and as usual, comes in three separate PC versions with Cinnamon, MATE and Xfce.
It will be supported with bug fixes and security updates for the next five years.
“Linux Mint 20 is a long-term support release που θα υποστηρίζεται μέχρι το 2025. Έρχεται με ενημερωμένο software, φέρνει βελτιώσεις και πολλές νέες possibilities to make your desktop even more comfortable to use.”
One of the interesting new features of Linux Mint 20 is a new application called Warpinator:
"The star in Linux Mint 20 is a new application called Warpinator. Ten years ago, Linux Mint 6 introduced a tool called "Giver." With this tool you could share files on your local network. Without a server or setup, your computers could automatically see each other, and you could simply transfer and drop files from one computer to another.
When the Giver project stopped, it had to be removed from Linux Mint. This functionality has been missing since then. Warpinator is a re-implementation of Giver. ”
