Clem Lefebvre, head of the Linux Mint development team, has announced the beta release of Linux Mint 22.2 “Zara.” Like all Linux Mint releases, this is a long-term support (LTS) release and will be supported until 2029. This update includes updated software, improvements, and many new features that aim to make the operating system “even more comfortable to use.”
Linux Mint is a very stable operating system, even in its beta versions. However, it is still a beta version and may contain critical bugs and should only be used for testing. Those using other Linux Mint 22 versions can do an in-place upgrade sometime after the stable version is released.
