NTDEV is the developer behind the popular tiny10 and tiny11 projects. A new one was released today creation its called live11. It's the first bootable Windows 11 live DVD designed to run entirely in RAM and fit on a 4 GB virtual hard disk (VHD).
live11 works like any other Windows live CD (or DVD/USB). You can burn the ISO to a USB and boot it operating system without installing it on your hard drive. You will have a fully functional Windows 11 system suitable for troubleshooting, recovery data, virus removal or other tasks.
You can directly download NTDEV's live11 from the Internet Archive, but you should be aware of the following limitations before using it:
- Running live11 requires 8GB of RAM, even though the project will only use half of it.
- live11 does not work on systems with UEFI and GPT (GUID partition table)—currently only supported mbr and the BIOS.
- If you want to test live11 in a virtual machine, only VMware and Hyper-V (the VirtualBox will hang on startup).
NTDEV plans to address these problems and bring more improvements in future updates, so we should expect a better version of live11 soon.
