Malwarebytes security company offers all pirated users of its anti-virus software, 12 months free protection. 
So whoever uses an illegal key activationof Malwarebytes software with the next application upgrade will automatically obtain a legal key valid for 12 months.
The company from San Jose, California announced that it will replace the keys of the anti-virus software of those who use pirates. The so called program "amnesty" will replace all illegal keys, thus giving the company control of the software, in exchange for 12 months of free updates.
Why
Company CEO Marcin Kleczynski in a forum post said the move was partly because in the early days of software distribution, developers were using a very ifsafe key generation algorithm, which made generating pirated keys very easy.
So the company, along with the 12 month offer, develops a stronger license key generation system. The offer is because there simply is no other way to separate legitimate users from illegal users.
"If you are a pirate, you will get a one-year license for Malwarebytes," said Kleczynski.
