Mapping service Maps.me for cell phones announced today that all of its apps for Apple devices, Android and BlackBerry are available for free to all.
Η υπηρεσία Maps.me έχει αναπτυχθεί με το project OpenStreetMap και τον περασμένο μήνα αγοράστηκε από την εταιρεία Mail.ru για ένα αξιοσέβαστο ποσό. Τώρα, two weeks later, Maps.Me Pro is free for everyone. The service offers offline mapping, searches, and the use of bookmarks in favorite or specific locations. The app used to cost $4.99.
It seems that Mail.Ru has expansionist aspirations not only for the domestic market. To date, since the launch of 2011, or an application has installed more than 7 millions of times on mobile. The platform has offline mapping data for more than 345 countries and islands.
As part of the changes, the company also announced that it will make its Maps.me service open source code since 2015 to contribute in this way to the OpenStreetMap community.
