A cumulative update from Patch Tuesday for Windows 10 of version 1903 (May 2019 Update), presents problems in one of the top features that the new version brings.
Windows Sandbox may not start after installing the cumulative update KB4497936 on devices already running Windows 10 May 2019 Update, and Microsoft says there are no updates to fix the problem.
In other words, though, you will need to install the cumulative update KB4497936 because it resolves security vulnerabilities in the operating system, you will end up not being able to use it Windows Sandbox.
Needless to say, those facing this issue can always uninstall the update for it reset of Windows Sandbox.
Microsoft, meanwhile, says it is working to develop an update that fixes the issue, and will likely be released in late June. The next Patch Tuesday will be released on June 11, so you'll probably have to be patient until then, unless something else comes up though.
In most cases, the specific problem that causes Windows Sandbox to crash displays the error 0x80070002 and the company says about it:
“Windows Sandbox may not start with the error “ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND (0x80070002)” on devices where the operating system language was changed during procedure update or when installing Windows 10, version 1903.”
Windows Sandbox is a new feature of Windows 10 that comes with the May 2019 update. It allows users to run various applications in a separate and secure environment that prevents malware from entering the system from the data stored on the device. It works like virtual machine, as a separate, fully functional instance of Windows within the operating system.
