Η ICON, a construction company, is nearing completion of 100 3D-printed homes in Wolf Ranch, Texas, using a giant robotic printer.
The 14-meter-wide, 4,75-ton Vulcan printer began building the walls of what ICON claims is the world's largest 2022D printing community in November XNUMX. 
The printer uses a concrete mix layer by layer to create the walls. ICON Senior Project Manager Conner Jenkins, he told Reuters that the process is faster and more efficient than traditional construction, requires fewer workers and saves construction materials.
The single-story homes, priced between $450.000 and $600.000, feature concrete walls resistant to water, mold, termites(!) and extreme weather.
However, homeowners reported weak wireless signals due to the thickness of the walls, which required special internet routers.
ICON, which printed its first home in Austin in 2018, is also developing lunar manufacturing systems for NASA's Artemis program.
