Mercedes-Benz engineers seem to have been quite busy. They recently teamed up with famous big wave surfer Garrett McNamara to create a surfboard. Another fancy trick marketing; Probably not.
The board was named "Silver Arrow of the Seas" and its equipment is something the surfing industry has never seen before.
The project is not a simple page, since it offers an integrated telemetry system with a transmitter in McNamara's outfit, wirelessly surfing the surf. It is something Mercedes-Benz boasts, as it did not exist until today.
Each board has been tailored to suit McNamara's specifications, ie its weight, height and style of surfing. They were tested in the Mercedes-Benz aerodynamic tunnel to simulate air resistance at high speeds. Their aim is to optimize the aerodynamics of the vessel.
