The news comes after Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg's comments in July that the company would spend hundreds of billions of dollars building massive artificial intelligence data centers.

Meta is looking for external partners to help it fund the massive infrastructure needed to power artificial intelligence.

In June, Reuters reported that OpenAI was planning to add Alphabet's Google Cloud service to meet its growing computing capacity needs, a surprising partnership between two prominent competitors in the artificial intelligence field.

Amid these deals, Google's parent company's cloud computing unit saw a nearly 32% increase in second-quarter revenue in July, which exceeded expectations.
