Microsoft forced upgrade of Windows 10 20H2

Microsoft announced this week via its Windows Update channel companys on Twitter that it will push Windows 10 version 21H2 to devices running it version 20H2 of the Windows 10 operating system.

Microsoft tweet states:

We have started the first phase for the release of Windows 10, version 21H2 for education της μηχανικής μάθησης (ML). Στοχεύουμε συσκευές με Windows 10, της έκδοσης 20H2 που πλησιάζουν στο τέλος της services to automatically update to version 21H2.

We have also started the first phase of the machine learning training (ML from machine learning), targeting devices in Windows 10 of version 20H2 that are nearing the end of the service for automatic updating in Windows 10 21H2. We will continue to train the machine learning model in all phases to smartly deliver the new versions of Windows 10 and offer a smooth updating experience.

Windows 10 20H2 devices will automatically upgrade to Windows 10 21H2 according to the tweet. Microsoft is using the release to teach machine learning, as versions of Windows will cease to be supported in the coming years. The next version that stops being supported will be version 21H1, which will receive the latest updates on December 13, 2022.

Devices running Windows 10 21H1 can also be upgraded to version 21H2, as they will be supported until June 2023.

Should Microsoft automatically install updates on our devices? The positive result is the continued support of the operating system with security updates. However, those who want to be in control see it as an interference.
