In a not-so-surprising announcement, Microsoft confirmed his retirement Visual Studio for Mac Integrated Development Environment (IDE).
The last version of this IDE will be 17.6 and will continue to receive service updates and security patches until August 31, 2024. After that, the company will cease its support.
According to Microsoft, the decision comes after analyzing user feedback and usage patterns. The company aims to focus its resources on optimizing Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code, both of which are accessible through the C# Dev Kit.
