Microsoft has stopped displaying its warning to block the installation of Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox in Windows 10 preview builds.
In previous publication We reported that Windows 10 releases of Windows Insider had a warning not to install third-party browsers such as Chrome and Firefox.
This alert did not have any settings to prevent it from appearing. It seems that Microsoft has completely withdrawn the warning after the public reactions.
The company says it was just a test run under Windows Insider, but did not say whether it would run on Windows 10 at some point in the future. However, the company guarantees that users will be able to choose which browser to run on their computer. Thanks Microsoft!
"We have only tested this functionality with Insiders. Windows Insider allows Microsoft to test different features, functionality, and feedback before proceeding. Our customers stay in control and can choose the browser of their choice " Reported a company representative, according to ZDNet.
Although it has every right to test its functionality, some of the changes it proposes from time to time are at least controversial. One of these will force Windows 10 users to open all links from the App Store to Microsoft Edge, regardless of the default browser.
So with the Windows 10 October 2018 Update we probably won't see the warning, but we expect Microsoft to promote similar ideas in the next Windows 10 updates.
